Even clear, cloudless skies can create a dramatic sunset scene. The bright, warm orange sky provided a striking background for the lighthouse shortly after sunset.
High clouds started to form late in the afternoon and I knew it would be a nice sunset. I realized I must think of a different place to shoot it. Point Vicente was the place with the Catalina Islands in the background. Click on the image to see a larger version.
We record breaking 80 degrees days this January, a nice hike on the rocky coast of Palos Verdes was in order. Pleny of sea birds were abound and I caught this pair catching the air currents.
I woke up early this morning to photograph the near full moon set just before dawn. I compose this as it was descending above the Hermosa Beach Pier and the Santa Monica Mountains over Malibu.
